This blog post presents a very interesting idea: if you link to the blog's main page the author will link back to your blog. The autor will post an article linking to 5 blogs with a short description.

Although some people may criticize that idea, I think it's not a bad idea if it's implemented in the right way. It's a good way to improve your PageRank, your technorati authority and it may help to increase the traffic to your blog too. But what is more important, it's an opportunity to add value to your blog. Your content is even more valuable if it links to other valuable resources.

So, I'm going to implement such a link exchange here in my blog but, since I don't like linking for the sake of linking, here are some guidelines to exchange links with this blog:

• The post you're linking from must be related to one of this topics: blogging, Linux, Open Source.
• The post you're linking from must provide valuable content.
• The link should be in the post body, not in comments or sidebar. However, links in comments and sidebar are welcome but will not be considered in this experiment and will not necessarily get a backlink.
• Linking to my main page is not required. You may link to any post published here. Linking to an article and main page would be appreciated.
• You do not have to create a complete post about my site.
  

Notes:

• I've not enabled a contact form yet. Contact me using this form with "link exchange" as subject. TrackBack service has been disabled due to massive spamming. So, I will take in account articles linking to my blog according to technorati until I enable those services in my site (I'm still working on TrackBack). Be sure to ping to technorati.
• I have to read your post and write some valuable content to link back to your post and it takes time. I'm a part time blogger, so please be patient.

I really don't think that I'm going to receive lots of links, but it's always good to experiment. Do you think it's a good idea? If you do, start spreading the word in your blog :-)
